Personal statement
Paul is 52, married to Lyndsay, with three children, and has lived in Hazel Grove for 20 years.
He moved with his parents to Bramhall in 1975 from the Wirral, and was a former student at Bramhall High School, living on Colwyn Road, near the school.
First elected in May 2000, then June 2004, May 2007 and now May 2011, he has taken a keen interest in Education, Transport, Environmental and Sports issues through the borough.
He is a Conservative member on the main Corporate Resource Management Scrutiny Committee, and also Conservative spokesman on the main TfGMC (Transport for Greater Manchester Committee) meeting bi-monthly at Manchester Town Hall. He is also a member of Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme South Area Committee.
He was a founder member (1999) of 'Bramhall Village Partnership' a group dedicated to promoting the Village as a local shopping and business centre.This has been in operation for the last twelve years and has raised the profile of Bramhall Village considerably in that time. The group is now called 'Bramhall Business & Community' .
Outside politics cricket, football, and golf are his interests. He is life Vice President and past player at Bramhall Cricket Club. He was also a past footballer with AFC Bramhall, who used to play at Lumb Lane, though today he plays a more leisurely game, golf, being a country member at Blackley Golf Club, Manchester.
He works as a staff member for Greater Manchester Police, and holds a diploma with the Institute of Marketing (1981).
