Conservative Campaigner for Stepping Hill and Chairman Stepping Hill Conservatives
John Wright has had close links with Stepping Hill for over thirty years and has lived in Stockport for over fifty years. He is married with two boys who grew up in the Stepping Hill area. He trains air cadets based at a school he formerly taught at and is a Governor of two schools in Stepping Hill
John opposes all excessively high council tax rises and welcomes the Conservative action which led to the Council Tax being frozen for a second year. He opposes all road and other schemes where the majority of residents are against them. There are other ways of reducing excessive speed than speed bumps and traffic lights.
John campaigns to tackle the appalling traffic congestion on the A6 and the waste of money spent on doing, and then re-doing, road works. He also campaigns to have the many sub-substandard roads, pavements and potholes in Stepping Hill made good.
In addition, John does not support the ever closer integration with Europe that the Lib Dems wish to achieve.
