A planning application has been submitted which would see Gatley Golf Course replaced with a 297-home community.
The application to create a community called Waterfall Brook, found here, has attracted widespread criticism and concerns from local residents. There are numerous documents also to be found on the planning portal, detailing all aspects of the proposal.
Adrian Walmsley, local campaigner and Conservative candidate for Cheadle & Gatley, has been talking to residents and made this issue the focus point of a recent leaflet distributed in the ward. Adrian knows how strongly residents feel about this, and said: "Apart from the loss of valued green and open space, I am concerned about parking and the increased traffic volumes - particularly around the Styal Road and Troutbeck Road areas - should the housing proposal be allowed." Adrian recently visited the golf course with Cheadle MP Mary Robinson to discuss this issue.
