Your councillors know a number of wards have had their green bin collections missed, some more than once over recent weeks. We have received the following from the council:

Stockport’s green bin collection continues to be impacted due to Covid-related staff shortages

For the past month, our green bin collection service has been impacted by staff shortages.

We are currently unable to collect some green bins on our daily rounds because of continued sickness and self-isolation of our contractor’s refuse crews.

In addition, we are finding it difficult to bring in staff from agencies to cover for our bin crews due to shortages both locally, and nationally.

If your green bin has been missed, it should be collected the following week. We advise residents to collect their bin and return it in time for the next collection day.

With Covid infection rates continuing to rise in the borough, we expect continued challenges to our green bin collection service.

We would like to thank residents for their patience during this difficult time for everyone.

If your green bin collection is missed, and it is not collected the following week as expected, please do contact your local ward councillor, or the Association on [email protected].
